In the new issue of
Rolling Stone, contributing editor Paul Solotaroff reveals that while at the University of Florida, head coach Urban Meyer helped cover up an incident where his star quarterback, Tim Tebow, took a sip of beer at a party. The incident in question occurred sometime in October of 2009 during Tebow’s senior year when the Gators were in the midst of an undefeated season and were looking to repeat as national champions. The report states that Meyer paid off witnesses to keep quiet so that Tebow’s squeaky clean image could remain intact. The most damning detail of the story is that Tebow took a sip of Bud Light, which we all know is bottled horse piss. Meyer knew if any of it came to light it would be, in his words, "the greatest, most dynamic scandal in the history of college football that he's ever coached." It is important to note that Solotaroff says this cover up "may have" happened. Which means it probably did or maybe it didn’t. Who knows? It certainly sounds like something Meyer would do. You’ll just have to buy the magazine to find out.
